Why Seams Exist?
Seams allow us to make extra-wide or extra-long curtains when one fabric roll isn’t enough, and they’re carefully hidden — only noticeable when fully extended, but nearly invisible when stacked to the sides.
Not a flaw: Seams are a normal part of drapery making and don’t affect quality or durability.
Fabric Roll Width & Seams
Fabric Roll Width & Seams
Most fabrics come in a standard roll width of about 110 inches.
To accommodate larger sizes, the fabric may need to be spliced (joined with seams) or rotated (turned for extra length).
For curtains made with a fabric width of 110", seams will be added whenever the panel dimensions exceed these limits, as follows:
- Triple Pleat / Triple Tailor Pleat: Seam required if height > 102 1/2" and width > 40".
- Other Header Styles: Seam required if height > 102 1/2" and width > 46".
These guidelines ensure your custom curtains can be crafted to the exact size while maintaining a clean, tailored look.
Memory Shape & Seams
Memory Shape & Seams
When Memory Shape is selected, seams will be added to panels wider than 141 inches.
This is because the additional shaping process requires extra fabric width beyond a single roll.
For the cleanest and most balanced look, we recommend ordering two panels instead of one for wider windows.
If you prefer a single extra-wide panel, feel free to contact us at care@cozyology.com, and we’ll be happy to refund the Memory Shape fee.
If you prefer not to have visible seams, we recommend ordering multiple panels to cover your window.
